I am thinking of buying ETH, I’ve never bought it before, what are the pros and what is to look forward to when owning ETH?

I’ve never bought a single ETH Token and well if I did it’d take a little bit before I can even afford to get 1 token. I’m just curious on what may be possibly in store for me in owning ETH. I currently own LTC only rn however I’ve been seeing ETH pop off a lot frequently and have been curious about it. Any advice?
