after 3gb DAG size

maybe stupid question.. But was wondering abit on what more would happen after the DAG size gets over 3gb. I know that all the 3gb cards get a hard time mining after that. But does the coin increase in value or does the difficulty change ? I guess there are alot of people with 3gb cards so i would think there will be some type of chnge after that.
