Some questions about Ethereum

Hello, I am a newcomer to cryptocurrency and I recently bought some Ethereum through Binance. Admittedly I know next to nothing about Ethereum, as part of my effort to better my understanding I would like to ask some (hopefully not too stupid) questions :).

If I wanted to transfer my Ethereum in my Binance wallet to another wallet (say Coinbase), is the only feasible transfer network ERC20? Also the transfer fee for ERC20 is listed as 0.008 ETH on Binance, which seems absurdly expensive especially compared to other transfer networks. Is this transfer fee consistent throughout all exchanges?
