Buying and storing process

I am new to Crypto and I would like to make my first big purchase. After reading up on the different currencies, the one that makes the most sense is Ethereum. I believe in this coin and would like to make an investment.

Now my process is this. Buy Ethereum on Kraken and then transfer it to my Trezor wallet since this is going to be a long term investment. In the future, if things are well, I may transfer some back to Kraken in order to sell.

Does this process make sense? Is this the correct way to proceed or are there better ways to go about it?

Investment is going to be big so I want to be careful with this.
