What are your thoughts on PoS comparead to PoSt?

I've been a lurker in the crypto space for some time and have recently become more active. I know I'm behind but I recently listened to u/vbuterin on Tim Ferriss going over PoW vs. PoS and have dug more into the conversation about the why and when. Listening to the MoFi pod I was clued into Chia and the concept of PoSt and I dug into their green paper and some YT vids.

Does anyone have any insight on comparisons of PoS vs. PoSt? There are seemingly many gains from PoW. Is PoSt a truly better solution for energy consumption? Are there different security trade-offs? Really anything. Thanks!
