Kawpow vs Octopus

Currently mining solo on my laptop that I also have for normal use and mine about 30 RVN every week with Kawpow algo (default when I downloaded it from 2miners). Laptop has a Nvidia 1650. Just saw a notification within the command line for an update for Trex that said octopus algo had improvements for 16xx GPUs alongside some other bug fixes. Is it worth switching to the octopus algo in my case?

Side question: How would I update my trex miner?
