New to mining

So I literally just started mining today, and I have no clue what I'm doing. But I've been doing it for a few hours and started messing around with overclocking (or trying to overclock) and my hash rate jumped from 15-18 MH to 7.5 GH. I'm wondering if I should be worried or anything. Also if anyone could tell me exactly how the wallet or whatever works that would be cool. Diss me in the comments
