Discussion: Don’t Fall In Love With Unrealized Gains

As exciting as it can be to see your portfolio gain large percentages, I think its important to stay level-headed and remember that those gains aren't worth anything until you cash out 💰. Stick to your PLAN.

Most importantly, the same applies when you're seeing red 🔻in your portfolio. You haven't lost anything until you SELL. Again, STICK TO YOUR PLAN.

If you get overly excited/obsessed when you see gains, the feeling of desperation/defeat will be even worse when you see red.

Especially after the crash of 2018, my biggest takeaway has been to be as emotionally disconnected as possible to your investment strategy 👍
