Newbie question on transactions and rates

I just started with Ravencoin and as a test, sent about 1 coin to my Exodus wallet. The coin showed on exodus immediately but I decided to look at the transaction and I see that not only was the 1 coin sent to my Exodus wallet but 10 more coins were sent to another wallet I don't own on the same transaction. Can someone help me understand why that might have happened? I'm not really into crypto for the money, just think this is a cool coin, so I don't mind the 10 lost coins but I do want to know what happened. I can't imagine 10 coins is the transaction fee.
