ETH2 fork split possible where miners keep their fork like with Ethereum Classic?

I understand miners are not happy with the changes coming for scalability and then moving to pos completely with ETH2. Is it at all possible that the project splits like it did with ETC? I am guessing it would be unlikely as all dapp developers want less fees so the miners would have nothing to mine as the dapps would move to ETH2.

Any thoughts on this?
