ETH to ETH2

Newbie here and maybe a dumb question. But when ETH2 comes out will my ETH be directly converted to it or will ETH still exist and I'll have to purchase ETH2 with my current funds?

Also sorry if I have the wrong flair. Wasn't sure which one is right
