Banning outdated clients/nodes?

Hello,

I run a couple of full nodes (that are up to date). Would it be a wise decision to actively ban clients and nodes running older versions? I'd like to hear some opinions and rationale behind them. Please reply if you have some insight, the ban function exists for a reason, I want to be sure I use it for the right reason.
