Twitter drops Bitcoin lightening payments for tipping

JUST IN: Twitter announces they are discontinuing the #Bitcoin lightning tip feature after usage fails to surpass $8500 TOTAL volume. Twitter to replace it with “coin tips” which transacts fiat instead of BTC.

Tipping via the lightning network was introduced on twitter in September 2021

This means the average volume for tipping via the lightning network on twitter would have been $20/day. It does not appear twitter is going to test out another cryptocurrency for tipping at this time.
