Best ways to move Ether to avoid gas fees

I had some 0x in a gemini account. I converted it to Dai then transferred to metamask to swap it to Ether. The fee to swap 30 in Dai to Eth is 130 so now Im trying to figure out smarter ways to move Eth to avoid problems like this in the future.
