Investing in ETH

Hi new here to this sub and I have been researching all about ETH the past week and this crypto seems very promising for long term future growth. That being said I have about 1,000 dollars to invest would this be a great long term investment? This money won’t affect me, also please no mean comments thanks just looking for advice.
