What will happen to eth miners?

Greetings hive mind. I’ve been doing some research on ETH and BTC mining stocks (as well as myself being an eth HODL’R). My question is this, what will happen to eth miners once eth 2.0 finally gets rolled out? Will they just be shit out of luck? Or will they still be able to make money? Sorry if this is a newb question, I am in fact a blockchain newb. All answers welcome! Thanks in advance!
