Will pay 10% to anyone who can help me get back my lost Eth.

Here's how it went down:

1. Moved some ETH onto my MetaMask Wallet
2. Went to uniswap.org
3. Located token I wanted to buy on CoinGecko (CGG)
4. Added CGG to my Metamask wallet
5. Hit the 'max' button on uniswap.org to buy CGG, hit confirm swap
6. I get 'waiting for confirmation' and look over at my metamask
7. MetaMask notification: ALERT: Insufficient funds. The 'confirm' button is of course greyed out.
8. Rather than hitting 'reject' on metamask, I just hit the x on the 'waiting for confirmation' page on Uniswap.
9. I repeat this several times trying to purchase CGG.

Now I have no CGG in my Metamask Wallet, and my ETH has gone from 2 to 0.7.

Have I lost my ETH permanently?

It's the transaction for about 1.2 ETH.

I don't remember pressing confirm, but I didn't hit 'reject' either. Every time i hit swap, metamask just kept telling me i had insufficient funds. but rather than hit reject on metamask, i went back to the uniswap page and hit the x and tried to swap again. each time I would enter a slightly smaller amount of ETH, hoping the transaction would go through, because I know I had 2eth, and I knew the gas fees were around $40.

Not sure what happened, but it looks like at some point I confirmed and in a single transaction 1.2 eth left my metamask wallet. To whom it went and how it happened without me receiving any CGG, stumps me.

p.s. another strange thing is that, on my metamask wallet, under the 'activity' tab, there is no recording of the eth leaving my wallet on march 23rd, as there is on the etherscan.io link i sent it. the two don't tally. the last entry on the 'activity' in metamask tab is 1.992 eth entering the wallet on the 19th of March, (this transaction is also visible on etherscan.io link I sent you, of course). What do you make of this discrepancy? Why is this info absent from metamask but not from etherscan.io?

one last point. as you can see from the etherscan.io link i sent, I had moved some eth on and off of the metamask wallet (around 30th January – 8th February) while I was toying with the idea of buying on a defi exchange like uniswap. I finally decided to take the ETH off the metamask wallet. when i did, the transaction was for almost the exact same amount that I ended up losing this time around (on Feb 8th). I mention this because from the time I emptied the metamask wallet on Feb 8th, until march 23rd when i lost my eth, there was a strange message in the metamask wallet activity tab. it was like a 'pending' message, i can't remember exactly. i just wondered if there was any connection between this transaction and my more recent loss of eth, simply because the amounts are so similar.
