A football team just bought a player with Bitcoin

Spanish third division team 'Infinite Club' actually signed a player with Bitcoin back in January. They are the first football club to engage in such a transfer and they have also mentioned that they are considering paying their players with crypto in the future.

They are in the third division in Spain currently, but they seem like an ambitious club with aspirations of promotion to the top tier. Perhaps in a few years there could be a team in the La Liga that pay their salaries and make transfers in crypto.

I thought I'd share the article since I thought it was some interesting real world use of crypto.
